Tony Akly is an award winning structural engineer with over 30 years of industry experience. Prior to founding Restaurants Consulting Group, Inc. in 1994, Tony worked for large architectural and engineering firms around Atlanta before making the decision to change courses and enter the hospitality industry. Tony opened his first restaurant,Café Milan, in the Galleria Centre in 1982. After successfully operating for 6 years, Tony sold the restaurant in order to spend more time with his family. After selling Café Milan, Tony decided to merge his vast operational knowledge and passion for the hospitality industry with his engineering and architectural experience and formed Restaurants Consulting Group, Inc. Since forming RCG, Tony has been involved in the creation of over 200 hospitality concepts throughout the country ranging from distinctive fine dining spaces to casual eateries with hundreds of outlets to high-end nightclubs and bars.
Tony graduated from the University of South Alabama with degrees in structural and civil engineering and a minor in Architecture. He is currently a licensed General Contractor in Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina. Tony resides in Atlanta with his wife, Gloria, and has 2 children, Ryan and Jonathan.
